Chat Log Analysis in an Online CS1 Course
Abstract
A description of a novel chat log analysis tool (CAT) and it's functionalities in regards to automatically analyzing student activity in an online CS1 class. The analysis tool detects the presence of polls, assigns customized participation grades, and it's data can be used as a predictor of student performance.
