UC Libraries Shared Integrated Library System (SILS) Working Group: An Informal Oral History
On December 10, 2021, the University of California Libraries Shared Integrated Library System (SILS) Working Group met for the last time. For three years, this group was responsible for leading the implementation of the University of California's first shared library system. This undertaking was a "moon shot" project involving hundreds of UC staff. Despite the complexity of the project and the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in the middle of it, the SILS was successfully launched on time (in July 2021) and within budget. This video, a recording of the SILS WG final meeting, constitutes an informal oral history of the SILS project.

Phase 3 October Public Report. Summary of Work and recommendations
To conclude its phase 3 charge , the Systemwide Integrated Library System (SILS) Working Group shared this report with the University of California (UC) Direction and Oversight Committee (DOC) and Council of University Librarians (CoUL) on October 10th, 2019 for their review. The CoUL vote on endorsement of this report and SILS Request for Proposal apparent awardee occurred at the November 6, 2019 council meeting; all recommendations put forth by the SILS Working Group, as outlined in the executive summary below, were unanimously endorsed by CoUL. Confidential information has been struck from this public version of the SILS Phase 3 October report.
Phase 4 Midterm Report (Public Version). Summary of Work.
As part of its phase 4 charge, the Systemwide Integrated Library System (SILS) Working Group shared this mid-term report outlining work completed so far with the University of California (UC) Direction and Oversight Committee (DOC) and Council of University Librarians (CoUL) on April 23, 2021 for their review. This report covers work completed during the first 12 months of phase 4 from March 2020 through March 2021.
